NEW YORK -- The New York Knicks signed first-round draft pick Tim Hardaway Jr. to a contract on Monday. Hardaway Jr. was the 24th selection in the draft and played at the University of Michigan where he averaged 14.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 107 games and helped lead the Wolverines to the NCAA championship game last season. He is the son of five-time NBA All-Star Tim Hardaway Sr. The Knicks also signed free agent forward C.J. Leslie to a contract. Leslie declared for the draft after his junior season at N.C. State. He averaged 13.7 points, on 49.7 per cent shooting, 7.3 rebounds and 1.37 blocks in 99 games with the Wolfpack. As a junior, he averaged 15.1 points, on 51.9 per cent shooting, and 7.4 rebounds and 1.23 blocks in 32.4 minutes in 35 games.
