CLEVELAND -- The Washington Nationals have reinstated first baseman Ryan Zimmerman from the disabled list after he missed 13 games because of a strained left rib cage.Zimmerman recently completed a rehab assignment at Single-A Potomac, where he batted .417 (5 for 12) with a homer and five RBI. Zimmerman was batting only .221 with 12 homers and 38 RBI for Washington when he got hurt.Although he hasnt hit for a high average, the 31-year-old Zimmerman has been clutch -- 12 of his RBI have given the Nationals the lead or been game-winners.Hes batting seventh and playing first in Tuesdays game against the Indians.Also, the team reinstated left-hander Sammy Solis, who was sidelined 13 games because of an inflamed right knee. Medics tended to Armstrong on the field for about 10 minutes before he was taken to a hospital to be evaluated. Armstrong returned to Ohio Stadium in the second half and joined his teammates on the sideline.Riley said hes encouraged because Armstrong has said he feels good. But before Armstrong can play, he will have to pass a series of neurological tests showing he has regained normal cognitive and physical functions.Well prepare as if we wont have him and well prepare as if we will have him, Riley said.
