Canucks netminder Ryan Miller was solid in stopping 20 of 22 shots to earn his fifth victory of the season while at the other end Justin Peters suffered his first regulation time loss after allowing three goals on the 33 shots he faced. The Canucks were in need of a good result not only to open their three-game home stand on the right note but also because they had shown some concerning inconsistency in losing three of their last four games coming into the night.
