LOS ANGELES -- Adam LaRoche didnt start on Wednesday for the Washington Nationals, but he sure did finish. Balenciaga Triple S Neon Green For Sale . LaRoche pinch-hit in the ninth inning and ended up with five RBIs in Washingtons wild 8-5, 14-inning win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. He hit a tying homer, a go-ahead two-run single in the 12th, and added a run-scoring grounder in the 14th that sent the Nationals to a hard-fought victory. LaRoche was scheduled to sit out on Wednesday because of a strained lower back, but entered in the ninth and made an immediate impact with a homer to tie it 2-2. "We had to use Adam even though we didnt want to," Nationals manager Matt Williams said. "He was huge for us, especially hitting that homer in the ninth." Asdrubal Cabrera added a two-run shot in the final inning for the Nationals, who withstood two late Los Angeles rallies in a game that lasted 5 hours, 34 minutes -- the longest at Dodger Stadium this season. Washington won two of three in the series, a potential playoff preview between NL division leaders. All of LaRoches RBIs either tied the game or gave the Nationals the lead. LaRoche gave the Nationals the lead for good with a fielders choice grounder in the 14th after an error by shortstop Justin Turner. Ian Desmond scored on the play, and LaRoche beat the relay to first to avoid a potential inning-ending double play. LaRoche was also hit by a pitch on the left elbow in the 11th, but fought through the pain and stayed in. He wasnt/t made available to the media after the game because he was receiving so much medical treatment, according to team staff. "Getting hit in the elbow there makes it really difficult for him to swing the bat," Williams said. "When we loaded the bases in the 12th he didnt know if he could swing. We were thinking about putting down a bunt, but he just stayed on the ball and hit a two-run single." Cabrera added his two-run homer in the 14th, and Blake Treinen (2-3) finally made the lead stand up. "It was fun to watch and just be a part of," Treinen said. "I really just tried to go out there and execute. Nothing fancy." Kevin Correia (2-3) took the loss. Washington used 10 of the 18 pitchers who appeared in a game that featured three blown saves. The Dodgers rallied from a 3-2 deficit in the ninth and then a 5-3 hole in the 13th on Carl Crawfords homer, but ultimately came up short. Los Angeles led 2-0 going into the ninth, when Washington tagged closer Kenley Jansen for four hits and three runs, including LaRoches tying homer and Denard Spans go-ahead single with two outs. A defensive mistake in the bottom half forced extra innings. With two outs and a runner on first, Nationals closer Rafael Soriano got Turner to hit a fly to right for what appeared to be the third out. Instead, right fielder Jayson Werth dropped the ball in the right-field corner for an error, and a surprised Andre Ethier raced home from first to tie it at 3. "It was tough but Kenley has done a great job for us all year," Turner said. "We came back and scratched one out in the ninth and battled the whole game." Thats how it stayed until the 12th. A walk by Anthony Rendon and singles by Werth and Bryce Harper loaded the bases with one out. LaRoche then lined a single into left field to put the Nationals back on top. Again, the Dodgers rallied to tie it. Tyler Clippard quickly retired the first two batters in the bottom half, but Juan Uribe singled and Crawford followed with a home run to left-centre, whipping the remaining fans at Dodger Stadium into a frenzy. "I think this was a good game for us," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. "The positive side of this is that the effort and determination and perseverance from our guys is going to get us where we want to go. Our guys fought all day." TRAINERS ROOM Dodgers: Mattingly said it was "probably not very possible" that RHP Josh Beckett will pitch again this season. Beckett has been on the disabled list since Aug. 4 with a left hip impingement. Mattingly added that LHP Paco Rodriguez threw a bullpen session with no complications and could begin throwing to hitters in the next few days. Rodriguez has been on the DL since Aug. 4 with a shoulder strain. UP NEXT Washington is off on Thursday and then opens a three-game home series against Philadelphia on Friday. RHP Stephen Strasburg (11-10, 3.49 ERA) is scheduled to start the opener. Los Angeles is off on Thursday before beginning a three-game home series against Arizona on Friday. The Raptors second-year forward has been one of the primary beneficiaries of the early-season trade, breaking out and becoming a vital part of his teams success on both ends of the floor. Around the league, teams are starting to take notice and feature Ross more predominately in their pre-game scouting reports but its not just the opposition that hes impressing. http://www.balenciagacheapshoes.com/ . So they rushed to re-sign the first baseman who general manager Ben Cherington described Friday as "a unique player." The World Series champions finalized a $32 million, two-year agreement Thursday with the slugging former catcher who turned into a surprisingly good defender. In a short time at the helm, Tim Leiweke has made a massive impact on Toronto FC and his upcoming departure as president and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment will likely lead to some uncertainty as to how the club will move forward. After seven years of failure at TFC, Leiweke started the job of dragging the club off its knees and giving it relevance again in the countrys biggest media market. He has made big progress, but the task is nowhere near finished, and the departure of Leiweke will raise questions about Torontos future ability to compete as one of the top two or three power brokers in Major League Soccer. In MLS, you dont necessarily need to spend mega bucks to bring success – look at last years two MLS Cup finalists, Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake for example - but with Leiweke in charge the goal wasnt just to be good in MLS, it was to become a "super club." He made big, bold promises, and he certainly delivered. On a cold, January day Toronto FC made one of the biggest splashes in Major League Soccer history, introducing not one, but two Designated Players arriving in the league from Europe. The signings of Jermain Defoe from Tottenham Hotspur and Michael Bradley from Roma marked a day in the clubs history that can only be matched in importance by the day the franchise was launched. "A very simple saying we will steal from the Kennedys is appropriate today," Leiweke said when opening the press conference on that day back in January. "Some people see things as they are and say why. Others dream of what can be and they say why not. Today is why not. Why cant we be great?" It was a day that made a big impact within the city of Toronto, but also changed the landscape across Major League Soccer. Those deals set a new standard for MLS, but they also saved the club from obscurity. Toronto had to commit what Leiweke called "financial suicide" to make the signings, but it was the only option att the time. Balenciaga Sock Shoes Cheap. In Leiwekes own words, "the patient was dying." The club was on "life support." You cant put a price on saving a club. Since bringing David Beckham to LA Galaxy from Real Madrid in 2007, Leiweke shown he has the ability to operate superbly in the global football environment. That ability is something Toronto FC lacked in the past, and will need to ensure they establish post-Leiweke if they are to compete on the biggest stage. Without Leiweke there is no Defoe in Toronto. Without Leiweke there probably wouldnt be the signing of Michael Bradley either. It was his contacts, negotiating skills and sales charm that made those moves a possibility. Having him in charge of TFC opened doors. He also managed to convince the board of directors to splash out enormous sums of money to make those deals a reality. Leiwekes arrival in Toronto was a big win for the MLS team because of his soccer background. He had already achieved a lot within the sports and entertainment business, but he also had a track record in MLS. His interest in the team and the league meant he invested a lot of time into fixing the club. While others in that role may give more time and energy to the Maple Leafs and Raptors, Leiweke was just as invested in getting things right at Toronto FC. He fired TFCs vastly experienced president and general manager Kevin Payne and appointed rookie GM Tim Bezbatchenko from the league office. He stuck with head coach Ryan Nelsen. Its still too early to say whether those moves will prove to be a success, but at this stage the club is on course for its first ever playoff appearance. So as Leiweke exits, it will be intriguing to see how big the impact will be on Toronto FC. Will they still choose to go after the big names with the "anything is possible," approach? Or will they be much more reserved in their ambitions? Either way, Leiweke has laid a foundation and there is still much building to be done. ' ' '
