FOXBOROUGH Kevin Zeitler Jersey , Mass. (AP) — At one point during the Patriots‘ 33-0 shutout over the Jets last week, second-year quarterback Sam Darnold said he felt as if he was “seeing ghosts.”New England’s defenses have had that effect on young quarterbacks during coach Bill Belichick’s tenure. The Patriots have won 20 straight games against first- or second-year signal callers, the longest such streak in NFL history.Article continues below ...Five of those victories have come this season, with New England’s top-ranked defense limiting the Jets’ Darnold and Luke Falk, Dolphins’ Josh Rosen, Bills’ Josh Allen and Giants’ Daniel Jones to a combined 44 percent completion rate and 595 yards, while coming away with 12 interceptions. Jones had the lone passing touchdown among the group. The next to try to break the streak is Cleveland Browns second-year quarterback Baker Mayfield , who is coming off a three-interception performance in a loss to Seattle and leads the league with 11 picks.“They try to get you to give the perfect look or perfect protection and they mix stuff up,” Mayfield said of New England’s defense. “They pressure you. They hit you up. If you are a young quarterback, you can see that.”But knowing how the Patriots defense attacks is just part of it. New England has also been masters at taking away opposing offenses’ top options.Browns receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. knows that means that Belichick will be trying to take him out of the game plan and capitalize of any miscues.“You can’t beat them by making mistakes. They do not make many mistakes,” Beckham said. “They have few penalties. They play perfect.”Or at least very close to it.New England enters Week 8 leading the NFL in several defensive categories including fewest points allowed (48) Joel Bitonio Color Rush Jersey , fewest total yards allowed per game (223.1), fewest yards per play (4.0) and fewest net passing yards per play (4.3).The Patriots also are holding teams to a league-low 14.3 percent success rate on third down and lead the NFL with 18 interceptions.Safety Devin McCourty said despite Cleveland’s recent struggles, they are aware of the big-play potential the Browns possess.“The way Baker Mayfield plays, he’s able to escape the pocket, (and) still throw the ball on the money,” said McCourty, who leads the NFL with five interceptions. “So, it’s an offense that you have to be ready to go (against).”GOING FOR 300Belichick could experience a bit of symmetry on Sunday.Belichick earned his first NFL victory as Browns coach in 1991 against the Patriots. But with a win over the Browns on Sunday he would earn his 300th victory (including playoffs) as an NFL head coach. He sits behind only Hall of Famers Don Shula (347) and George Halas (324) on the NFL’s win list.NEW RECEIVERTom Brady’s receiving group will undergo another adjustment this week after the Patriots placed receiver Josh Gordon on injured reserve with a knee injury .The Patriots will now be leaning even more on veteran Mohamed Sanu, acquired in a trade with Atlanta on Tuesday, to provide stability to an offense that leads the league in scoring at nearly 32 points a game. The 30-year-old Sanu has 33 receptions for 313 yards, but only one touchdown this season.PRAISING PATRIOTSBeckham said that playing for Belichick and with Brady was on his bucket list. When Beckham was with the New York Giants, there were rumors that he was going to be traded to New England. The deal never materialized https://www.brownsfanshop.com/Terrance-Mitchell-Jersey , but Beckham said he would have welcomed a chance to play for the NFL’s gold standard.“I was willing and ready to go over there,” he said. “That was always a dream of mine to play for Tom Brady and Belichick.”Beckham would love to see the Browns follow Belichick’s championship blueprint.“It’s about winning, but it’s about the way they go about it,” he said. “How everything is precise and everything is just perfect. It feels good to win.”O-LINE SHUFFLEThe Browns may look different up front on Sunday.Coach Freddie Kitchens and his staff spent the bye week mulling possible lineup changes, and it’s possible there will be one — and perhaps two — switches on Cleveland’s offensive line. Left tackle Greg Robinson, who made a huge impact when he was promoted to a starter midway through last season, could be replaced by Justin McCray.Robinson has committed some drive-killing penalties and hasn’t played as well as the Browns hoped — or needed.A year ago, the Browns subbed Robinson for Desmond Harrison, and Mayfield was only sacked five times over the final eight games.ABOUT FACEBrowns star defensive end Myles Garrett’s bye week began oddly — with a fan punching him in the face. Stopped in traffic, Garrett took the unexpected blow from a man who initially asked him for a photo before lashing out.Garrett downplayed the incident this week.“Nothing really happened,” he said. “It was a what, 10-minute thing? I went on with the rest of my day and the rest of my week. It’s in the past.”Garrett has a great rapport with fans and doesn’t think the matter will make him more cautious in public.“Hesitant to open my window Jarvis Landry Jersey ,” he said. “That’s about it.” More of the latest Browns news and notes from around the web in today’s dose of the Daily Dawg Chow." />Skip to main contentclockmenumore-arrownoyesDawgs EDTCleveland Browns:“Browns shouldn’t trade Duke Johnson, should trust him to be good teammate” (C-T) - “But if I were the man in the plain, oversized gray sweatshirt, I would stand by my convictions and not trade versatile running back Duke Johnson unless I got what I was asking.”“2 Live Crew member rips Browns QB Baker Mayfield for stern talk about Duke Johnson Jr.” (WKYC) - “Baker Mayfield is going to say what is on his mind and not hold back on offering his opinions, even if that means calling out a teammate.”“Analyzing the minicamp battles between Odell Beckham and the Browns cornerbacks” (cleveland.com) - “The time for offseason team activities is over, and the Browns finally put the full product on the field this past week during minicamp.”“Denzel Ward: Practicing with Odell Beckham will get me to ‘next level’” (PFT) - “Beckham said ‘iron sharpens iron’ when asked this week about what will happen on the practice field this summer, so it seems the Browns expect to make gains on both sides...”NFL:“Texans fire GM Brian Gaine after one season” (ESPN) - “The Texans hired Gaine in January 2018 after former general manager Rick Smith took a leave of absence to help take care of his wife as she battled breast cancer. This edition covers players ranked 40th through 36th.Thanks to a tie for the 40th spot in the rankings, this group of players has six members rather than our usual five. However, this group consists of players at every experience level, from 13-year NFL veterans to rookie draft picks. And although all of these players have a clear path to the roster in one way or another, one in particular is likely to get a much more prominent role on the team than he had a year ago.T-40: JK Scott, punterIn his first year out of Alabama, the 2018 fifth-round draft pick had a bit of a tough adjustment to the NFL. Scott had a decent enough 44.7 gross average, which was a few tenths of a yard better than Justin Vogel’s mark from the year before and finished third for a single season in Packers history. However, his net average was much worse at 38.8 yards, and he struggled significantly to pin his kicks inside the 20-yard line. With a new special teams coordinator on board, the job remains his for the upcoming season. His long, lanky frame and the ability he showed in college — both in his directional ability and his ability to boom kicks — suggest that he can become a very good NFL punter. But he needs to be more consistent to live up to his high draft status, especially since Michael Dickson, who went a handful of picks ahead of Scott, earned All-Pro honors as a rookie.T-40: DeShone Kizer, quarterbackLike Scott, Kizer needs to improve this summer to live up to his excellent physical tools. His two lengthy outings relieving Aaron Rodgers in 2018 showed why the Cleveland Browns were all too happy to move on from him last offseason. First, he effectively gave the game away in one quarter of action against the Bears when filling in for Rodgers after he suffered his knee injury. Only a ridiculous second half by number 12 salvaged the turnover-fest that ensued with Kizer in the game. Then in week 17 with Rodgers pulled due to a concussion, Kizer again struggled mightily. He completed just 16 of 35 passes for 132 yards and an interception. As he did in the preseason https://www.thepackersfanshop.com/Nick-Perry-Jersey , Kizer had his best production with his feet, scrambling four times for 40 yards.Perhaps one of the biggest issues facing Kizer in his third year in the NFL is the fact that he will be learning a new offense and playing for a new head coach for the third time. His physical skills give him the inside track on the backup quarterback job, but it is by no means a guarantee that he will hold on to it.39: Raven Greene, safetyOne of the bright spots in the preseason last year was Greene, a rangy deep safety who made a few great plays on the football in training camp and helped out with some nice special teams support. That earned him a spot on the roster, which he eventually parlayed into a key role on special teams and a few games as a useful reserve and key player when other safeties suffered injuries.nose tackle a year ago for Texas A&M because his team needed him more there, and responded with an impressive 7.5-sack season.Capable of playing just about any position on the line, he impressed at the Senior Bowl as a three-technique tackle and interior rusher, the same position as former fourth-round pick Mike Daniels. Keke should immediately be considered as a backup for the veteran, and a good performance in 2019 could make him the heir apparent if the team elects to move on from Daniels when his contract expires after the season.T-36: Marcedes Lewis, tight endAfter a year spent languishing on the bench with Mike McCarthy in charge, Lewis agreed with another former Packers tight end — Martellus Bennett — on how unfriendly the former Packers coach’s offense was for the position. However, with Matt LaFleur arriving to run the show and feature the position more heavily in 2019, Lewis returned on a one-year deal, reuniting with new offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. At this stage of his career, Lewis’ size and blocking ability are his best assets. The former helps with his catch radius, however, as he did have one particularly memorable catch a year ago in the preseason. Furthermore, his longest catch in the regular season Davante Adams Jersey , a 30-yarder, came on a throwback pass design like the ones LaFleur’s offense will likely use frequently. Look for him to be on the field a lot more in 2019 than the 191 snaps he played a year ago. When Clay Matthews knew he was leaving the Green Bay Packers, he immediately told his agent he wanted to play for the Los Angeles Rams.Eric Weddle says he did the same when his time in Baltimore ended this month.Blake Bortles took it a step further: The veteran quarterback was so eager to join the Rams after Jacksonville released him that he says he would have signed even without visiting the team first."My agent didn't think that would be the best thing to do," Bortles said with a laugh. The Rams' combination of Southern California sun, recent success and Sean McVay has proven irresistible to the handful of veteran free agents who arrived this month to bolster the NFC champions' roster.Matthews spent Tuesday at the Rams' training complex, which happens to be about 13 miles from his high school. It's also a short commute from the new house that the star linebacker was already building for his young family even before his 10-year tenure with the Packers ended."To be back here now and to be able to play for the local football team and have family and friends (around), to be able to start our family here and kind of plant our roots here, is something that's pretty awesome," Matthews said. After reaching their first Super Bowl in 17 years, the Rams have made only a few judicious additions to their roster this month. Along with signing five-year Jaguars starter Bortles to be Jared Goff's backup, Los Angeles snagged six-time Pro Bowl safety Weddle to take over for Lamarcus Joyner, while Matthews will step into a yet-to-be-determined role as a linebacker and pass-rusher.Matthews started his Packers career as an edge rusher who moved into the middle of the Green Bay defense midway through his tenure. Six Pro Bowl selections and one Super Bowl ring later, the 32-year-old former USC star felt he still had more to do.Although he had a career-low 3 ½ sacks last season, Matthews plans to be a force for the Rams, who could lose Ndamukong Suh to free agency. Matthews expects his position "to be fluid," but McVay expects him to get after quarterbacks."I know I have the ability to produce like I've done before," Matthews said. "Not to make excuses, but there was some change last year in the Packers organization, and unfortunately it didn't work out for me. But as far as moving forward Josh Jones Color Rush Jersey , I know I'm a difference-maker. I know I can change games. I look forward to proving that, and showing everybody here that what you saw these past 10 years is what you'll get for these next two."Matthews was 8 years old when the NFL left Los Angeles, although he didn't root for the Rams or the Raiders: He supported the teams of his father, Clay Jr., and uncle, Hall of Famer Bruce Matthews.Ever since the Rams relocated in 2016, Matthews had an eye on the West Coast. He savored the chance to play in the Coliseum last season when the Packers lost to the Rams — and now he'll return to his college arena all season long."For (the Rams) to come back here, and for it to be so close to home, it truly is a perfect fit for me," Matthews said.Bortles spent five up-and-down seasons as the Jacksonville starter before the Jaguars added Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles. Faced with free agency for the first time, Bortles chose the Rams even though he wouldn't be in real competition for the starting job. That's because Bortles was eager to play for McVay, who fostered Goff's development and built a dominant NFL offense in just two seasons in LA."Everybody wants a piece of what (McVay) is doing, and wants to understand how he's doing what he's doing at the level he's doing it at," Bortles said. "I want to get an opportunity to start in this league and I think in order to do that, this is the best step."
Marlon Mack Jersey , the Houston Texans down 24-21 to the Indianapolis Colts and needing a critical stop at midfield on third-and-1, Andrew Luck tried and tried to draw the Texans offside. With the play clock dwindling and the Colts facing having to burn a timeout, Luck gave it one last try.Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney took the bait. The 5-yard penalty gave the Colts a first down and, ultimately, the win. The Colts (7-6) snapped a nine-game winning streak by the Texans (9-4), trimming Houston’s lead over the AFC South to two games with three remaining.Clowney later refused to comment when approached by reporters.“He jumped offsides,” Texans defensive end J.J. Watt said. “I mean, I think we all saw the same thing. I don’t know what you want me to tell you.”Houston’s longtime struggles against the Colts returned Sunday. Their Texans’ winning streak started with a 37-34 overtime win in Indianapolis on Sept. 30, but they returned to prior misfortunes against the AFC South foe, falling to 8-26 all-time against the Colts, including 5-12 at NRG Stadium.“I think the Colts did a good job, but we didn’t play well as an offense,” Texans coach Bill O’Brien said. “It’s always going to be the quarterback, the head coach. I totally understand that, but we just weren’t very good as an offense. We were never able to get into a rhythm.”Indianapolis’ defense gave Houston fits both in the passing and running game. The Colts sacked Watson five times for a loss of 41 yards and held Houston’s rushing offense to just 89 yards on 25 carries.Watson had 267 yards passing and 35 yards rushing. Tight end Ryan Griffin led Houston receivers with 80 yards on five catches, while DeAndre Hopkins was held to 36 yards on four catches, including a late 7-yard touchdown reception that cut the lead to three.“You learn more with a loss than a win Quenton Nelson Color Rush Jersey ,” Watson said. “The wins, you create the mistakes but you won, you celebrate and kind of put them behind. Losses kind of bring out the negative plays. We’ll correct what we need to correct, get back on the same page and move on from it. Maybe it’s a good thing that we ended up losing today, but you never want to lose, you always want to win.“We’ll push forward.”Luck threw for 399 yards and two touchdowns, and receiver T.Y. Hilton piled on 199 yards on nine catches. Hilton entered the game as the all-time leader in receiving yards per game at NRG Stadium with 122.3 yards and finished Sunday just shy of 200 yards with nine catches on 12 targets. In seven career games in Houston, Hilton has topped 100 yards four times, with three of those topping 175 yards.“We just came off a nine-winning streak, so it’s important to not cave your own walls in,” Texans safety Tyrann Mathieu said. “We did some great things this season, and obviously, still have a lot still to play for. We’re not packing our bags quite yet. I think you need to lose every now and then to really get a grip on what teams are trying to do to you.” INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Jason Garrett and Frank Reich understand the high stakes of Sunday’s game.If Dallas wins, it clinches the NFC East. If Indianapolis wins, it stays in the hunt for the AFC’s final playoff spot and possibly even a division crown. The two coaches and their players will get one more precious late-season chance to see how they stack up against another postseason contender and what can be done to keep playing into January.“Most people call this the dash for cash,” Colts tight end Eric Ebron said. “So you just try to win.”Few teams have done more lately than the Colts (7-6) or Cowboys (8-5).Rather than folding after starting 1-5, Andrew Luck & Co. turned things around with six wins in seven games and tying Baltimore https://www.coltsfanshop.com/Andrew-Luck-Jersey , Miami and Tennessee for the No. 6 seed in the AFC playoff chase.Luck’s comeback has happened during perhaps the best season of his career with 34 touchdown passes, second in the league and six short of his career high, a career-best completion rate of 67.7 percent and he is 241 yards away from the fourth 4,000-yard season of this career. This time, Luck also is working with an improved defense that has allowed 17.1 points over the past seven weeks and ranks among the league’s top third in sacks and negative plays. The combination has upped the ante for Colts’ opponents.“They attack you a lot of different ways,” Garrett said. “It’s aggressive, it’s attacking and it’s a balanced offense. You have to be ready for a lot of different things.”Dallas also made a dramatic midseason turn. After starting 3-5, the Cowboys made a deal for receiver Amari Cooper and everything suddenly changed.Running back Ezekiel Elliott has charged back into the NFL rushing lead and quarterback Dak Prescott started making more potent plays.Dallas’ defense has climbed to No. 4 in yards allowed and now people around town believe the Cowboys could win their first divisional-round game since the 1995 playoffs — if they make it.One thing is clear: Dallas is all-in.“It will be a great challenge. It’s going to take every person over there, but I think defenses like that challenge,” Reich said when asked about slowing down Elliott. “I know our defense will like that challenge. It’s not going to be easy, they are going to get some runs. If Zeke has 95 yards that might be considered a win.”TACKLING STARSWhile much of the focus this weekend will be on high-profile offensive stars such as Luck and Prescott, rookie linebackers Darius Leonard and Leighton Vander Esch will play big roles, too.The league’s official stats show Leonard leading the league with 135 tackles despite missing one game with an injury.Vander Esch has played well, too. The Cowboys credit him with 136 tackles, tied for the franchise’s rookie record, league stats show Vander Esch with 108 — tied for No. 6 overall and second among rookies to Leonard.LINE DANCEWhile Colts starting center Ryan Kelly could return after missing three straight games with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee, Cowboys right guard Zack Martin could miss the first game of his career in his first trip to his hometown.Martin Josh Ferguson Jersey , a four-time Pro Bowler and 2014 All-Pro, sprained the MCL in his left knee during the preseason and left both games against defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia after aggravating the injury. He returned to the first Philadelphia game, but didn’t come back in last week’s victory.Kelly, meanwhile, was limited in practice Wednesday. He said he hopes to play through the pain with a brace. Before he was injured, the Colts allowed one sack in six games. Indy has given up six sacks in the three games he missed.REJOINING THE YOUNGSTERS?Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee practiced this week for first time since leaving a game Nov. 5 against Tennessee with his second hamstring injury this season and he could be rejoining the linebacker rotation Sunday. If he does, the focus will be on how it works.Vander Esch and Lee play the same position and 23-year-old Jaylon Smith, a former Notre Dame star, also played well this season. The two youngsters have embraced playing big roles while Lee, a 2014 All-Pro choice, was on the mend.FANCY FEETEight Colts players will wear special cleats this weekend to promote various charities.Luck will wear shoes bearing Indianapolis’ renown Riley Hospital for Children, which he has worked with since being drafted No. 1 overall in 2012.Three players — Leonard, linebacker Anthony Walker and safety Mathias Farley — are using their cleats to draw attention to the Edwin Jackson 53 Foundation. Jackson was killed in a traffic accident in February.
Seattle Seahawks fan Seattle Seahawks T-Shirts , even growing up in a household with a Steelers-loving dad.If possible, Powell’s enthusiasm for the Seahawks was amplified when Seattle selected Shaquem Griffin in the fifth round of the NFL draft last spring. Powell didn’t know who exactly Griffin was before the Seahawks selected him. He just knew there was a college player with one hand who wanted to play in the NFL.“I was like ‘Ah, that would be cool if he was on the Seahawks,'” said Powell, who wears a prosthetic left leg. “And then he was drafted by the Seahawks.”Powell and seemingly everyone else now knows Griffin’s story. How doctors amputated Griffin’s left hand when he was 4 years old, a day after his mother found him in the kitchen attempting to cut off his jelly-like fingers. His fingers hurt whenever he touched anything, the result of amniotic band syndrome, a congenital birth defect. The chance he was given to play college football at UCF. The remarkable college career where he was the best defensive player in his conference and one of the best in the country. And ultimately being provided a chance to play in the NFL for the team his twin brother already played for.Griffin’s story will likely add another unplanned chapter on Sunday in Denver, one nobody could have expected on the day he was drafted by Seattle. He’ll do more than just play in his first NFL regular-season game. Griffin will be one of the starting linebackers for the Seahawks with K.J. Wright out due to minor knee surgery. The player who has been told countless times he can’t will make his professional debut as a starter.13View Gallery Gallery:FANTASY PLAYS: Start 'Em - Sit 'Em For Week 1 NFL gamesNoah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports | Noah K. MurrayFor kids like Powell, it’s even more inspiration. If someone missing a hand can start in the NFL, then what is possible?“He’s just proved he can do whatever he wants because he worked hard for it https://www.theseahawksfanshop.com/hats ,” Powell said.Griffin’s work ethic has been cited by coaches and scouts as the driving reason the 23-year-old is even in the NFL. But being an NFL player has brought another responsibility, one greater than what he experienced in college. Griffin understands he will always have a role beyond just being a football player. It’s the reason why after Seattle’s final preseason game he spent time back on the turf of CenturyLink Field聽meeting with kids from NubAbility聽, a nonprofit whose mission is to “encourage, inspire and instruct limb-different youth in mainstream sports.” He signed autographs. He posed for pictures. Powell was there among those listening intently to what Griffin had to say well after 11 p.m. on the field of a mostly empty stadium.Griffin said he didn’t have a specific message to share; it was simply a chance to relish in the camaraderie of being together and seeing what was possible.“There’s no exact message. It’s just us doing what we love doing,” Griffin said. “That’s living out our dreams. That’s us choosing what we want to do. There’s not really a message because we’re all on the same page. We all support each other. Having them come support me is another step along the way. It’s just living out our dreams the best that we can.”Right in the middle of talking to the kids and signing autographs was Shaquem’s twin brother Shaquill, the Seahawks’ second-year starting cornerback. He’s helped his brother manage the transition from college to the NFL. He’s been just as important in supporting and promoting what his brother has already accomplished.“It means the world to me. Just seeing the people that look up to us, kids that are still pushing for what they believe in,” Shaquill said. “You understand what kind of role you’ve really got playing this sport, using this platform. I feel like what my brother is doing and what I’m continuing to do is way bigger than football 鈥?the giving back to others and motivating them and give them something to dream about. That’s what we play for, and being in that situation and talking to those kids, it’s a lifetime thing and something I always look forward to.”Of course Seattle Seahawks Hoodie , there still is the football aspect to Griffin’s story and why so much attention will be placed on his debut. Seattle knew it was getting a tremendous athlete that could be an immediate contributor on special teams when it drafted Griffin. Whether he would play on defense would depend on how quickly he grasped the scheme and found a position. The Seahawks ultimately decided to use Griffin in space and slot him as Wright’s backup. Compared to Wright in size, Griffin looks more like he should be a safety than a linebacker. But he’s taken to the position, even after a rough second preseason game when he looked lost and overwhelmed, which led to conversations with coach Pete Carroll and defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. about how to be more like the player they saw in college.Griffin showed what Carroll and Norton wanted to see over the final two preseason games. And now he gets the chance to show it in a game that matters.“When you’re a young guy trying to do everything for everybody, it’s insurmountable. That’s kind of how he was looking at it,” Carroll said. “He was tight, he wanted to please everybody, he was just trying to do too much stuff. We simplified it, got his language really clearer, what he was intending on trying to get done 鈥?like making his drops, making his reads and stuff http://www.theseahawksfanshop.com/Phil-Haynes-Jersey , just simplify things 鈥?and he’s a really good ballplayer, he just took to it.“I think he took also the fact that we showed confidence in him. Instead of ripping his butt about what he couldn’t do, we told him what he could do, and he’s kind of followed it. All of a sudden he felt like he was very comfortable and much more at home, so we’ll see how it works.”33View Gallery Gallery:Ranking NFL Quarterbacks From Youngest to OldestTroy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports | Troy Taormina The Seahawks and a running back were expected to reunite on Monday, and it appears to have happened. No, not that one.Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Seattle is expected to sign Robert Turbin, six days after initially hosting their former fourth-round selection on a visit:As Garafolo explains, Marshawn Lynch and the Seahawks are still working through the steps of a reunion, one which does seem inevitable. But as of now Gary Jennings Jr. Jersey , Turbin is the former Seattle tailback who has been reunited with his former club. Turbin was one of a handful of players to be worked out by the club on Monday: Over three years with the Seahawks, Turbin totaled 928 yards on the ground and 427 yards receiving. His only two touchdowns for the team came through the air, as well. Turbin’s last NFL game came over 14 months ago, in a 42-34 loss to the Jets when he was a member of the Colts.Barring anything unexpected, Lynch should soon join Turbin and Travis Homer in Seattle’s backfield, as both Chris Carson and C.J. Prosise will be placed on injured reserve to open up roster spots. But for the time being, just Turbin has returned.
ORCHARD PARK Men Ed Oliver Jerseys , N.Y. (AP) — If you haven’t done it already, and you’re on social media, mute LeSean McCoy’s account. The Buffalo Bills running back proved to be a one-man spoiler in tweeting out a significant occurrence in the newly released movie, “Avengers: End Game,” shortly after it premiered. The tweets didn’t go unnoticed, especially among Bills fans. Rather than eagerly trying to search out any possible news on who the Bills might select with their two draft picks in the second and third rounds on Friday, they instead learned a key plot twist. The reaction to McCoy’s tweets was so swift, it began trending on social media, and became its own “Twitter Moment.”Twitter posted a thread titled, “LeSean McCoy makes an enemy out of every fan who hasn’t seen Avengers yet,” and included several spoiler alert warnings. The thread then featured several reactions to McCoy’s tweets.Jake Bencie, of Indiana, posted a note asking the NFL to suspend McCoy Ed Oliver NFL Draft , while adding he hoped “the Bills don’t win a game this season.”Sara Cichon of Buffalo posted a message that read: “YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO SAY SPOILER ALERT!!!!!! I wish I could unsee this tweet…this is a horrible day now.”And an account named BetTheOver concluded: “Just forced me to buy a Yeldon jersey with that tweet,” in reference to running back T.J. Yeldon, who signed with the Bills on Monday. The Buffalo Bills are 2-3, having won a pair of games that most prognosticators expected them to lose. Their roster is full of players whose fantasy-football prospects are not exactly solid. With a running back averaging only 43 rushing yards per game, a quarterback throwing for 150 yards per game, and a top wide receiver (Zay Jones) averaging 33 yards per game, Buffalo isn’t exactly a hotbed of fantasy-football activity. However, each week brings different situations, and this weekend’s match-up with the Houston Texans provides some possible plays for risk-seeking fantasy football owners and homers alike. If you’re still trying to win in fantasy football with Bills players, I admire your faith. Here are a few options that could help you this week.Bills D/STThis one seems pretty surreal given the start of the season, but Buffalo’s defense has very quietly put together a fantastic 14-quarter stretch. After allowing 75 points in the season’s first six quarters, the Bills have only allowed 43 since Vontae Davis retired at halftime of the home opener against the Los Angeles Chargers. For the season, the Bills have 12 sacks Cheap Ed Oliver Jersey , three interceptions, and six fumble recoveries. After totaling 1 point through the season’s first two weeks, the Bills’ defense has scored 17, 6, and 12 over the last three—giving them the 15th-best total for the season at the position. Buffalo’s defense is available in 98% of Yahoo! leagues, and they could be a great option this week given the uncertainty surrounding Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson. Even if Watson plays, he’s taken 18 sacks on the year, second only to Josh Allen. QB Josh AllenSpeaking of Allen, the Bills’ highest fantasy scorer is still a low-end (read: not startable in most leagues) option at his position, but if you’re feeling frisky or your league allows you to deploy multiple quarterbacks, you could certainly do worse than Allen. Nearly all of his fantasy value right now is in his legs, a situation Bills fans are more than accustomed to with their quarterback. Allen has 3 rushing touchdowns on the year to go with 135 rushing yards, buoying his dreadful passing stats (748 yards Red Ed Oliver Jersey , 2 touchdowns, 5 interceptions). Yahoo! projects Allen to score 16.2 points this week, making him QB22 in their projections. Houston has allowed three quarterbacks to score at least 19.8 points on the year, but all three of them (Tom Brady, Eli Manning, and Andrew Luck) are experienced veterans who are far better than Allen. Buffalo’s signal caller is a risky play.RB LeSean McCoyIf it’s volume you want, you’ll have exactly that with McCoy, who saw 24 of his 45 carries in 2018 during Sunday’s 13-12 win over the Tennessee Titans. McCoy did not appear to be at all affected by the rib injury he suffered in Week 2. If offensive coordinator Brian Daboll follows a similar game plan to the one used last week, where Buffalo ran the ball on 43 of 63 plays from scrimmage, then we can expect McCoy to have another week of 25 touches. That doesn’t guarantee efficiency or success, but it guarantees opportunity—which is all you can really ask for in setting a lineup.

Both charts previously showed the Raiders as the team with the most draft value, but that’s no longer the case. After the Raiders traded third- and fifth-round picks for Antonio Brown, they’ve fallen behind the Cardinals on the Jimmy Johnson chart, which places high value on having the first overall pick. And after the Giants added a first-round pick and a third-round pick for Odell Beckham, they leapfrogged the Raiders on the Chase Stuart chart, which places high value on having a large number of picks. Both charts now show the Raiders as the No. 2 team in draft capital. The Bears Infant Christopher Slayton Jersey , who have traded away their first-round pick, second-round pick and sixth-round pick, remain at the bottom of the league in both charts. The Saints, who traded away their first-round pick, third-round pick and fourth-round pick, are No. 31 on both charts. The Cowboys Christopher Slayton Jersey Draft , who traded away their first-round pick and sixth-round pick, are No. 30 on both charts.
while fulfilling his obligations with the media Byron Cowart NFL Jersey , but he was a bit more curt during Wednesday’s session.Gronkowski has 22 catches for 325 yards and no touchdowns since the season opener and questions were focused on those numbers being down from what he’s put up in past seasons. Gronkowski said he wasn’t really sure why he’s scoring fewer touchdowns this season and quipped “I think it misses me” when asked if he misses the end zone while also noting that all is well because the team is 6-2.Things wound up when questions shifted to his confidence level. Gronkowski said “living” in response to a question about how he’s feeling and “thank you” when asked about seeming more subdued than normal. He moved on to say his confidence is good before bringing the proceedings to an end following a question about why he’s feeling that way. It’s not the first time that Gronkowski has fielded questions about his offensive numbers this season and it likely won’t be the last if he continues to put up similar lines the rest of the way. The answers seem unlikely to change as long as the Patriots remain in their customary spot in the standings, however. ATLANTA (AP) — In the past three NFL seasons alone, Brandin Cooks has caught passes from Drew Brees, Tom Brady and Jared Goff while playing for Sean Payton, Bill Belichick and Sean McVay.“I guess I know how to pick ’em, right?” Cooks asked Tuesday with a laugh.Cooks has racked up 3,786 yards receiving and 21 total touchdowns in that three-season span, which will include six playoff games and two consecutive Super Bowls. He played for the Patriots in the big game last year, and he will play against them for the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. He is also the first player in NFL history to have three consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons with three different teams. But there are asterisks on this incredible resume.Cooks was only able to accomplish these feats because he was traded before each of the past two seasons, changing teams twice before he turned 25 years old.Two elite NFL franchises — New Orleans and New England — decided they could do without the speedy, dependable receiver, giving him up for first-round picks.Although he has been asked about it almost daily during the Rams’ playoff run, Cooks insists he harbors no ill will against the Saints or the Patriots. The Rams’ postseason could have been a personal revenge tour Byron Cowart NFL Draft , but Cooks says it means nothing to him that his two former teams are Los Angeles’ final two playoff opponents: The Rams beat New Orleans 26-23 in the NFC championship game, and they will face the Patriots in the Super Bowl. While Cooks claims he didn’t take it personally, he also acknowledges using the trades as motivation during his fourth consecutive 1,000-yard season and the subsequent playoff grind.“It’s fuel to the fire,” Cooks said. “I know that I can play this game at a high level, whether someone thinks it or not. For them to trade me, it’s part of the game, but it also gives me that motivation to keep going, too.”This Super Bowl is a particular opportunity for Cooks, who realizes how fortunate he is to return to football’s biggest stage for a second straight year. Cooks caught just one pass for the Patriots against Philadelphia last season before he was sidelined with a concussion, missing most of the biggest game of his life.“I would be lying if I said I didn’t think about it like all year, offseason and training camp,” Cooks said. “But now that I’m here, I’ve got that thought process out of my mind.”Cooks has avoided constant attempts to get him to compare the inner workings of the Patriots and Rams this week Byron Cowart Buffalo Bills Jersey , deliberately giving simplistic, short answers such as: “They’re both great cultures. That’s the similarity.”But it’s clear he has found a home in his native California with the Rams, who have lavished praise on him ever since his arrival. They even signed him to a five-year, $80 million contract extension before he played a game in LA, and he rewarded them with a career-best 1,204 yards receiving.“I can promise you this: We’re not trading him,” McVay said Tuesday.Cooks has showed his reciprocal devotion to the Rams in many ways: Just last week, he surprised team custodian Alfonso Garcia by paying for two tickets to the Super Bowl for Garcia and his 8-year-old son.The Patriots have had only good things to say about their former receiver even though Belichick kept him for only one season before making the trade to maximize his value, rather than signing him to the type of long-term contract New England has often avoided. The Pats used the Rams’ first-round pick on offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn, who tore his Achilles tendon in the preseason.Belichick, Brady and other Patriots praised Cooks’ work ethic and talent this week.“He was a great guy to have in the room, a hard-working teammate, and he’s a real playmaker,” New England receiver Chris Hogan said.Hogan said that although he was dazzled by Cooks’ speed Infant Jacob Bailey Jersey , “when I’d see on film I was even with him or ahead of him, I made sure to point it out.”Even though he has impressive numbers for Los Angeles, Cooks is sold on McVay’s culture of individual sacrifice for team success. In fact, Cooks is getting some of his biggest praise for a strategic drop in New Orleans. On a third-down play with the Rams on the edge of long field-goal range in overtime, Goff threw a short backfield pass to Cooks with Saints defenders bearing down.Instead of catching it and probably taking a 4-yard loss on a play that McVay immediately regretted calling, Cooks intentionally dropped it. Shortly afterward, Greg Zuerlein made a 57-yard field goal to send the Rams to their first Super Bowl in 17 years. No matter what happens in his second shot at the Super Bowl, Cooks seems certain be a key component of Los Angeles’ offense next season along with Robert Woods and the injured Cooper Kupp, who formed one of the most potent receiver trios in the league when they were together this season. Cooks is also eager for another year to build chemistry with Goff.“To be put with a young quarterback that’s the same age as me, and to know you have the chance to be together for a long time, that’s a blessing,” Cooks said.
ORCHARD PARK White Doug Middleton Jerseys , N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills have begun addressing their offensive line needs by signing Spencer Long to a three-year contract. The addition made on Tuesday comes a week after the New York Jets cut Long to free up nearly $6.5 million from next season's salary cap.The 28-year-old Long has 44 starts in 53 career games over five seasons. He spent his first four seasons in Washington, which selected him in the third round of the 2014 draft out of Nebraska. Long has versatility in having played both center and left guard. Both are positions of need for the Bills, who had difficulty replacing the offseason losses of starting center Eric Wood and left guard Richie Incognito.Injuries to Long's right hand, which he uses to snap with, led to him struggling at center with the Jets. He eventually moved to left guard after James Carpenter sustained a season-ending knee injury. The Bills also re-signed cornerback Lafayette Pitts to a one-year contract. Pitts was mostly used on special teams during his first full season in Buffalo last year. OAKLAND (6-4) at NEW YORK JETS (3-7)Sunday, 1 p.m. EST, CBSOPENING LINE — Raiders by 3RECORD VS. prime-time appearances during the 2019 season. That list includes both of the teams playing in the opening game of the year. The Packers and Bears will face off on Thursday Dalvin Cook Jersey , September 5 in a matchup chosen to celebrate the NFL’s 100th season and then go on to make eight combined appearances in prime-time games the rest of the year. The first Sunday night game of the year will feature the Steelers visiting the Patriots and both of those AFC teams are also scheduled for five prime-time outings this season. The Cowboys, Chiefs, Rams, Vikings, Eagles and Seahawks are the other teams slated for five prime-time games.Four of Seattle’s appearances will come over a five-week span that also features their bye week. They’ll face the 49ers on the road on Monday, November 11 before going on a bye and returning with Sunday night road games against the Eagles and Rams sandwiched around a Monday night home game against the Vikings. The 10 teams scheduled for five prime-time games may not wind up making all of those appearances as they can be flexed out of Sunday night games in Weeks 11-16. The number could also rise if they are flexed into games in those weeks or in Week 17. The Patriots and Rams could also add a Saturday night game in Week 16, Hi kids, so are we doing better this morning? We are three weeks in to the season, and it feels like there are some patterns developing for the Minnesota Vikings. For one, we the fans are about as skittish as a herd of buffalo with a pack of wolves nearby. It feels like we’re ready to bolt and stampede in about 100 different directions at the first sign of trouble. You could sort of feel it building ever since the final gun sounded at Lambeau last week, and had the Vikings laid an egg against Oak Vegas we would have all been in full blown panic mode. But that didn’t happen. For the second time in three games, the purple and gold played exceptional complementary football. Once again Alan Page Jersey , the defense started off fast, which has been their main key to success so far. In week one they forced a three and out on Atlanta’s opening drive. Then the special teams blocked a punt and set the Vikings up for an early opportunity to score on a short field. On their second drive the Falcons went three and out again, the Vikings got the ball, and scored another touchdown. Against the Raiders, the Vikings gave up one first down in Oakland’s first two drives, and the offense got two touchdowns. In both wins, the Vikings had a 21-0 lead by the second quarter, and both games felt like they had been put out of reach.Minnesota’s defense has been good at creating turnovers in their two wins as well. Besides the blocked punt in week one, the defense produced three turnovers, and as a team Minnesota was +3. Against the Raiders, they had an early interception, and the team was +1. At Lambeau http://www.thevikingslockerroom.com/authentic-brett-favre-jersey , the defense gave up three touchdowns on their first three drives, they were -2 in the turnover battle, and those two main factors prevented them from coming back to win the game, which they put themselves in position to do.On offense, some clear patterns are emerging for the Vikings and their recipe for success. It seems counter-intuitive in today’s quarterback-centric, pass happy NFL, where modern analytics dictate that the running back isn’t important. But I harken back to something I learned in the Army (heeeeeere we go)—if it’s stupid but it works, it’s not stupid. The most obvious one is that this offense runs through Dalvin Cook, first and foremost. The new zone blocking scheme installed by The Denver Mafia is paying big dividends early. At this time last year, the Vikings had 198 yards rushing, or 66 yards per game. By season’s end, they were 30th in the NFL in rushing Womens Stefon Diggs Jersey , and it was one of the worst rushing seasons in franchise history. This year, they have 581 yards in three games, they are 2nd in the NFL as a team, and Dalvin Cook currently leads the league in rushing with 375 yards in the first three games.Even in last week’s loss, the Vikings stuck with the running game, and it paid off and got them jump started on a comeback after they went down 21-0. Cook is ‘The Guy’, and since John DiFilippo is currently presiding over the Gardner Minshew II Deb Ball Coming Out Party in Duval, the Vikings are not going to get away from running the ball this year. And that’s not a bad thing. So, where does this leave Kirk Cousins? I think the Vikings can win with him, certainly. But I think asking him to carry the team on his back regularly isn’t a recipe for success. I’m not saying this to bag on Cousins, either. He needed a confidence builder after last week’s three turnover game, and he bounced back with a pretty good game. It was a pedestrian stat line Chuck Foreman Jersey , for sure. 15/21 passing, 174 yards passing, and a touchdown isn’t going to put Kirk Cousins in the rarified air of what constitutes an elite quarterback...but he doesn’t need to be in this offense, either. That’s going to be a bitter pill for the ‘but we paid him $84 million guaranteed’ crowd to swallow, but go get a glass of water and wash it down. I don’t care if Cousins throws for 174 yards or 374 yards, as long as the Vikings win. Those of us who were Teddy supporters when he was here would have been perfectly fine with the stat line Cousins dropped yesterday as long as the Vikings won. He made some good throws when they were needed, kept the offense moving, and had a very efficient day.And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, no matter what his take home pay is.Cousins also needs to minimize turnovers, which he has done in the two victories. It’s okay for Cousins to be a secondary or even tertiary weapon in this offense, as long as the running game can produce. But there is going to come a day when the running game isn’t producing and the Vikings will need Kirk Cousins to rise to the occasion. Can he, though? Because that is the one question that this season hangs on. He most certainly has the physical talent to do so http://www.thevikingslockerroom.com/authentic-fran-tarkenton-jersey , there is no question about that. If he can, the Vikings are going to be a very good football team. If he can’t, they are going to struggle to make the playoffs, like they did last year.He didn’t against Green Bay, and the House of Horrors that is Soldier Field awaits. A win there and a good game by Cousins really transforms his career narrative, at least for a little while, while a loss causes the herd to stampede towards the cliff.Thank you for listening to my TED talk.

Over the next few days leading up to this year’s draft, Acme Packing Company will examine the Packers’ history at each current slot for 2019, as well as run down the names of recent picks around the league at the position. The Packers have made the 30th selection in the NFL Draft four times, the same number of picks that they have made at 12th overall. However, while the team found a Hall of Famer at 12, they have had much less success at 30. In fact, the Packers’ four draft picks at that slot played a combine seven seasons for the franchise, and the most recent pick had a significant flame-out with the coaching staff before being dealt away before his rookie contract expired.Packers History at 301950: Gordie Soltau, EThe first of those picks was end Gordie Soltau from Minnesota. They drafted offensive tackle Tom Cichowski in 1966, but he played for the AFL’s Denver Broncos for two years before his career came to a close.1997: Ross Verba, OLThe next two picks will be much more memorable for younger Packers fans. Ron Wolf selected Iowa offensive lineman Ross Verba at #30 in 1997, making him the team’s first selection after winning Super Bowl XXXI. He played left tackle and left guard in Green Bay for four years before heading to Cleveland as a free agent in 2001.2015: Damarious Randall, CBFinally, the most recent pick at 30 is a painful one, as Ted Thompson made Arizona State defensive back Damarious Randall the choice in 2015. Randall, a college safety and slot defender Jamaal Williams Jersey , was asked to play cornerback in Green Bay before being unceremoniously traded to the Browns during the 2018 offseason for quarterback DeShone Kizer. Randall famously got himself benched after a sideline tirade, leading to the team’s player leadership council requesting that the team release him outright midway through the 2017 season.Randall has recorded at least three interceptions in each of his four NFL seasons, with two-pick sixes (both before his trade from Green Bay).Recent History at #302018: Mike Hughes, CB, UCF (Vikings)2017: T.J. Now, Murphy will hire his replacement.Monday’s press conference explaining the decision to make a change made it clear that Murphy will be making the decision. However, he’ll do it with active involvement from G.M. Brian Gutekunst, and Murphy insisted that he won’t hire a coach with whom Murphy isn’t comfortable. The duo met with the media, making it clear that they will set no parameters on the search Kenny Clark Jersey , hoping to find the best candidate for the job wherever and whoever he may be.“We’re gonna find the right head coach for the Packers,” Murphy said.Murphy faced questions regarding his credentials to make the hire, given that he’s the chief executive and not a “football guy” per se.“I don’t want to brag about myself,” Murphy said (before sort of doing just that(. He said that he’s been around football his entire adult life, as a player and in other roles. He explained that he spent 17 years as an Athletic Director at the college level, hiring many coaches.“I’m a football person even though I’m in a position of president,” Murphy said. “This give the Packers the best chance to have success.”Murphy emphasized that he’ll work directly with Gutekunst, and Murphy express confidence that they will find “an excellent coach.”“This is crucial for the organization,” Murphy said.Indeed it is. The Packers followed 25 years of struggles with 25 years of consistent contention. Fifty years after the Lombardi era, it feels like things are in danger of slipping back in the wrong direction.

From linebacker Ty Summers to running back Dexter Williams, there were reasons to be excited about a number of different players. However, some of the most encouraging signs came from the depth on the interior of the Packers’ offensive line. In fact, two of Green Bay’s reserves on the inside earned honors from Pro Football Focus, landing on PFF’s team of the week for the first set of preseason games. The two players were Justin McCray, who split time between left guard and center Cheap Rashan Gary Jersey , and Anthony Coyle, who spent most of 2018 on the Packers’ practice squad. Full financial terms have not been disclosed, and we will update this space when we find out what they are.Sendejo had the Vikings decline his option this offseason, as he missed most of the 2018 season with injuries and was made expendable by the emergence of Anthony Harris, who replaced Sendejo in the starting lineup.Prior to coming to Minnesota, Sendejo had spent time with the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Jets, and even had a stop in the now-defunct UFL with the Sacramento Mountain Lions. He signed a four-year extension with the team during the 2016 offseason, but with no guaranteed money left on his deal, the Vikings cut ties with him this February.Sendejo was a solid safety for most of his time with the Vikings after picking up the starting spot. He’s Super Bowl Dru Samia Jersey , essentially, getting a “prove it” deal to see if he can pick up where he left off after missing most of this year. This is another loss for the Vikings, but it’s one that appears that they’ll be able to absorb with little to no problem. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Kirk Cousins threw the ball right over the Arizona linebacker trailing Adam Thielen on third-and-1, a neatly executed seam route by Minnesota’s star receiver after a stutter step sprung him open for a 13-yard touchdown catch .Then Thielen circled the offense together in the end zone for a choreographed dead-arm dance he recalled from college, his teammates clumsily swinging to an imaginary beat as the crowd celebrated a 10-point lead over the Cardinals early in the third quarter. There was nothing awkward about this 27-17 victory on Sunday for the Vikings , though. They played a back-to-the-basics game, leaning on some powerful running by Latavius Murray and a smothering defense.“We know the offense is very capable of going out there and making big plays and scoring points, especially with the teams we’ve played with the past few weeks,” linebacker Anthony Barr said. “If we do our job on defense, we’re going to keep giving ourselves the chance to win.”After Thielen scored, the Vikings forced a three-and-out when Harrison Smith had one of Minnesota’s four sacks of Josh Rosen to take the rookie down at the 2-yard line. The Vikings took over in Cardinals territory at the 43, and three plays later Cousins sprinted across the goal line on an option-style keeper from the 7. The dead-arm dance broke out again Dru Samia Jersey nfl draft , and the Vikings (3-2-1) were in control.“I like to embrace my limitations as a dancer,” Cousins said. “I guess I’m honest about it. That’s a dance I can get behind.”Cousins has clearly embraced his role as a team leader, even though he’s only been a member of the Vikings for seven months. He was nominated last week by defensive tackle Linval Joseph to lead the breakdown prior to pregame warmups on the field in Philadelphia with a message about finishing strong. On the flight home after the Vikings beat the Eagles, Joseph told him to be ready for a repeat. This time, Cousins screamed at his teammates to encourage a similar effort and urge the defense to harass the rookie Rosen. After drafting Teddy Bridgewater, trading for Sam Bradford and signing Case Keenum over coach Mike Zimmer’s first four drama-filled seasons, the Vikings let all three of them leave as free agents and signed Cousins instead.“The thing I love about this guy is his passion for the game, his intensity that he has,” Zimmer said. “He’s come in here and taken charge as a leader.”Here are some other key developments from the game:ROSEN’S THORNSComing off his first career NFL win against the San Francisco 49ers, Rosen faced a much stiffer test on the road against a Vikings defense that was in sync at all three levels after several displays of uncharacteristic vulnerability over the last few games. Rosen threw one interception while completing 21 of 31 passes for 240 yards, and the Cardinals were 0 for 10 on third down conversions. They were also stopped twice on fourth down tries.“The opportunities are there,” said Rosen Ben Gedeon Jersey , who took over for Bradford last month. “We find ways to miss them.”The Cardinals had 269 total yards, which happens to be their season high.“Am I concerned? Majorly,” coach Steve Wilks said.DOUBLE DIPCousins and the Vikings recovered from that sack-fumble-touchdown trifecta in time for a 48-yard field goal by Dan Bailey on the last play from scrimmage of the first half that gave them a 13-10 lead. Then they took the second-half kickoff and went on the 10-play, 75-yard touchdown drive that included four catches for 47 yards by Thielen. The Vikings have actually been focusing on the importance of scoring on the last possession of the first half and the first one of the second half since Zimmer brought it up in a team meeting during organized practices in May.“He calls it a ‘double dip,'” Cousins said.KEEPING UP WITH JONESIn three career games against the Vikings, Cardinals defensive end Chandler Jones now has 18 tackles, five tackles for loss, 4½ sacks, four quarterback hits, two forced fumbles, one pass breakup and a touchdown return of a blocked field goal.Jones chopped the ball out during a second quarter sack of Cousins, and Budda Baker scooped it up for a 38-yard touchdown return . The Cardinals also sacked Cousins four times Cameron Smith Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , hit him seven times and deflected seven passes, but those became background highlights on an afternoon when the Vikings revived a dormant rushing attack with 195 yards on 32 attempts.“Me being one of the captains and one of the leaders of this team, it’s my job to stay on top of the guys and get this thing turned around,” Jones said.ANOTHER LOSS FOR FITZGERALDThe Cardinals have lost 10 straight games at Minnesota, with the last win coming in 1977 when the franchise was in St. Louis. Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has been a part of six of those , and the 15-year veteran’s latest visit to his hometown might have been his last as a player.“You hope you can change quickly, but all you can do is just keep working at it,” Fitzgerald said.

Here are five players/position groups who stood out to me.Sam Darnold: A 5 for 7; 46 yard stat line is solid but unspectacular. From the eyeball test I thought Darnold was excellent. His two incompletions were plays where he had to navigate difficult circumstances and still gave the team a chance for a successful play. Aside from that his decisions all seemed correct, and his throws were on the money. The sample size is small, but preseason number two has been a success so far for Darnold. It certainly has done nothing to lower the optimism for a breakout campaign.Quinnen Williams: Let me go out on a limb and say this gentleman seems pretty good at the game of football.Williams didn’t fill up the stat sheet, but he seemed super disruptive when he was in the game and impacted a couple of passes with pressure. The construction of this roster will likely require Williams to be an impact player from day one. Games like last night are encouraging on that front.Backup offensive line: It wasn’t a totally perfect night, and Chuma Edoga in particular had some struggles. With that said, I was really pleased with how the Jets performed up front. It would have been difficult to tell four of the five starters were missing from the lineup based on the performance. Depth up front is a major concern entering the season. While I don’t want to read too much into a single quarter of football, I think this performance was a positive.Luke Falk: Falk’s physical limitations might limit his upside. He also seems hesitant to push the ball down the field, but he’s clearly head and shoulders above Davis Webb. He can actually make reads and deliver accurate short passes. I think the battle for the third quarterback spot is just about over.Deontay Burnett: Burnett is in a tricky situation. He is likely battling for a roster spot with guys like Greg Dortch and Trenton Cannon who have similar skillsets but also could contribute on special teams. Burnett hasn’t shown much ability to offer help on special teams so he needs to produce during his snaps in the slot to have a shot. He came up with a touchdown last night.Bonus winner: Henry Anderson: I don’t want to put Anderson in the main category because I think of preseason winners as players who have something to prove. It might be the young guy looking to take the next step, or somebody hoping to make a move in a roster battle or a position battle. A quality veteran starter like Anderson doesn’t really fit the mold, but I did want to point out a strong performance. He was disruptive on the defensive line and blocked a kick. Welcome to the 2019 Jets Free Agency Profile series! Up until the start of the 2019 free agency period in March, I’ll be running through a bunch of names the Jets could potentially bring in with their hoard of cap space. Let’s get into it!Name: Adam HumphriesBirthday/Age: January 24th, 1993 (age 26 on September 1st)Height/Weight: 5’11 Youth Quinnen Williams Jersey , 195FA type: UnrestrictedCollege: Clemson (signed by Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent in 2015)Team(s): Buccaneers (2015-18)Position/usage: Slot receiver2018 stats: 16 games, 76 catches, 105 targets, 816 yards, 5 touchdowns. 72.4% catch rate, 10.7 yards per reception, 7.77 yards per target (48th / 83 wide receivers with 50+ targets)Previous salary: Retained by Tampa Bay on a second-round tender. $2.9M cap hit in 2018Spotrac Market Value: $10.4M/yearJets connections: Clemson teammate of Jordan Leggett and Charone PeakeMeasurables (Pro Day): 4.53 forty, 10’02” broad jump, 6.96 three-cone, 4.32 twenty yard shuttle, 32.5” verticalPros:Will only be 26 at the start of 2019Respectable production totals. 18th among wide receivers in both receptions (76) and receiving first downs (49) in 2018Solid after the catch receiver, a trait Adam Gase values in his WRs as I mentioned previously with Golden Tate. Ranked second among WRs in YAC per reception in 2016 and was top-25 in 2018. Consistently used in the screen game.Great display of Humphries’ YAC ability here Color Rush Quinnen Williams Jersey , in addition to a flash of versatility to produce as an outside receiver. Lined up outside left, he does a nice job disengaging the jam of the pressing corner to get into his break towards the middle, as he’s freed up by the slot receiver’s pick. After that, just an impressive display of ability with the football in his hands, mixing speed, vision, and power to just barely get the ball over the line for the score.Proven slot receiver, which the Jets could use. Not just a middle of the field weapon, actually seems to favor out-breaking routes, a good match to the preference for that area Sam Darnold seemed to show as a rookie. Here, after already making multiple catches towards the sideline earlier in the game, Humphries is able to get the slot corner to bite outside and pivots inside for the easy toast and touchdown New York Jets Jersey 2019 , taking advantage of the tendencies he built earlier in the game.Having a bona fide slot receiver should allow for more snaps lined up outside for Quincy Enunwa, which is where he was most effective in 201632 of 32 games played over the past two seasons and 47 of 48 over the past threeThe Jets will presumably look to bring back Pro Bowler Andre Roberts to return punts, but Humphries can return in a pinch. 51 career punt returns for an average of 8.3 yards per returnExtremely efficient target. Posted a 47.1% first down rate and a 107.7 passer rating when targeted. Improved on his already efficient numbers of 42.4% and 99.0 in 2017Consistent - picked up at least one first down in every game played, at least two first downs in twelve games, and at least three first downs in nine games (for comparison, the Jets leader in receiving first downs, Robby Anderson, picked up at least one in twelve games, 2+ in six games, and 3+ in four games)Cons:Currently sports one of the highest market values at the wide receiver position, via Spotrac ($10.4M annually). For comparison, prior to the 2018 season Tyler Lockett received a 3 year Quinnen Williams New York Jets Jersey , $31M contract extension from the Seahawks after averaging about 37 yards per game over his previous two seasons. Viable starters on the free agent market are not going to be cheapHad the benefit of playing in a Tampa Bay offense that produced a boon of passing numbers. The Buccaneers threw the second most passing attempts in the league from 2017-18, and also ranked third over that span in plays run while trailing. Humphries also got to play with some very good pass-catching talent attracting most of the defense’s attention, highlighted by Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson, Chris Godwin, Cameron Brate, and O.J. HowardCareer-high 5 touchdowns in 2018, but has only 9 career touchdowns in 60 games (pace for 2.4 per 16 games)Would it be smart for the Jets to invest big money in an underneath slot receiver who hasn’t posted more than 816 yards in a season yet?

Where do the Patriots stand as we head into the draft?"The 2019 NFL Draft is one week away, with the first round starting on Thursday, April 25th and lasting into the weekend. The New England Patriots have done a solid job of building a roster through free agency that allows them to have a lot of flexibility during the draft. The Patriots are tied with the New York Giants for the most picks in the draft with 12, while the Patriots have a league-high six selections in the first three rounds. No team is better suited to capitalize on this upcoming draft than the Patriots. So with that in mind, I went through the roster to determine New England’s biggest roster needs for the 2019 NFL Draft.Low Needs11. Running backThe Patriots have no need at the running back position with the five players likely to make the roster- Sony Michel, James White Color Rush Hjalte Froholdt Jersey , Rex Burkhead, Brandon Bolden, and James Develin- all locked up through 2020 or beyond. Develin is the only player over the age of 30, so there isn’t an aging player that needs to be replaced.10. CornerbackThe Patriots don’t have a great need at cornerback, either. Stephon Gilmore is under contract through 2021 and is coming off an All Pro season. Jason McCourty is under contract through 2020 and while he turns 32 years old this summer, he’s still playing at a high level and there are players already on the roster that are ready to take over. J.C. Jackson has a ton of potential, while the team invested a second round pick in Duke Dawson last year. The lone question mark is with Jonathan Jones, who is a free agent after this 2019 season. Jones is a core special teams player that helped out on defense. Perhaps Keion Crossen, who made the roster last year, could be stashed as a long-term Jones replacement. Still, that just reinforces that cornerback is a small priority when you’re looking to replace your fifth cornerback for the 2020 season.9. SafetyThe Patriots secondary is in great shape since the safety position is set, too. Devin McCourty, Patrick Chung, and Duron Harmon form the best safety trio in the league, and the team claimed former second-round pick Obi Melifonwu off waivers to round out the position. McCourty is the only player that is positioned to enter unrestricted free agency after the 2019 season, but it’s probable that the team will find a way to retain him. Both McCourty and Chung are turning 32-years-old this summer, so there is a need to plan for the future at this position. But they’re both still playing at a high level where finding their replacement is not a pressing need.8. LinebackerThe Patriots linebackers are coming off a strong season, with Dont’a Hightower Youth Hjalte Froholdt Jersey , Kyle Van Noy, and Elandon Roberts playing at a high level. Add in Ja’Whaun Bentley, who was a promising rookie before his season-ending injury, and the linebacker position is in great shape with no one over the age of 30.Still, Van Noy and Roberts are slated to be free agents after the 2019 season and Bentley is far from a proven commodity. There is some reason to keep an eye at this position, but there isn’t a need for 2019 and only the smallest need for 2020 at this point in time.Moderate Needst-6. Defensive tacklet-6. Defensive endBoth defensive line positions are in similar shape. All players projected to make the roster at either position are under contract or as a restricted free agent through the 2020 season. They boast a proven veteran that plays at a high level in Lawrence Guy and the Michael Bennett. They have a couple of rotational veterans that deserve to be on the field in Mike Pennel and Adam Butler, and in John Simon and Deatrich Wise. But then there are a whole lot of question marks and camp bodies fleshing out the roster. Derek Rivers, Keionta Davis, and Trent Harris are all promising young players on the edge, but they shouldn’t prevent the Patriots from drafting a player if a quality option slides down the board. With Bennett already 33 years old, the Patriots could address the position in the draft and no one should blink. The same competition doesn’t exist at defensive tackle, although there isn’t an aging veteran that needs to be replaced. David Parry, Ufomba Kamalu, and Frank Herron should not stop the Patriots from taking a defensive tackle if a player is available.Still, there isn’t a huge need at either position since we’re looking at the fourth man on the depth chart. I would expect the Patriots to take a flier on a defensive lineman or two late in the draft.5. Interior offensive lineShaq Mason (signed through 2023) and David Andrews (signed through 2020) are already under contract, but Joe Thuney, Ted Karras, and Brian Schwenke are free agents after 2019. Hopefully the Patriots can sign Thuney Womens Hjalte Froholdt Jersey , but the team should operate as if Thuney will not be back after this season and find a suitable replacement in the draft.I wouldn’t be shocked if the Patriots used one of their third or fourth round picks on an interior lineman. In fact, I expect them to.4. QuarterbackTom Brady is ageless and Brian Hoyer is as good of a back-up as you’ll find in the NFL, but both are old and both are free agents after 2019. I don’t think anyone expects Brady not to re-sign, so his “free agency” is more of a formality and the reason why I don’t have this position in the “high needs” section.Do the Patriots need to find a long-term replacement for Brady? Absolutely. Do they have to do it this year? Not really. They can afford to wait for the 2020 NFL Draft if they don’t find a player of their liking.Still, I would draft a quarterback in rounds 3 or 4 every year between now and Brady’s retirement just to increase the odds of finding a franchise quarterback. Will Grier or Ryan Finley, come on down!High Needs3. Offensive tackleMarcus Cannon turns 31 years old in May. There isn’t another proven player at the position on the roster.Sure, the Patriots invested a first round pick in Isaiah Wynn last year, but he tore his Achilles and shouldn’t be taken for granted. Who else is on the roster? Is Cole Croston the third-best offensive tackle, or could we make a real argument that sliding Joe Thuney out from guard to tackle would be the best move if there were an injury?Injuries happen and the third offensive tackle on the Patriots roster has averaged 25% of the offensive snaps over the past five seasons. Tackle is a big need.t-1. Wide receivert-1. Tight endWho do you trust out of the Patriots’ receivers, other than Julian Edelman, who turns 33-years-old in May? Braxton Berrios is the only receiver under contract beyond the 2019, highlighting how big of a need this position is as New England enters the draft. And at tight end, Austin Seferian-Jenkins is the only player with real starting experience and he’s a free agent after 2019. Would you trust any of the other tight ends on the roster to start at the position in 2019? Do you have expectations for any of the tight ends to develop into starters in 2020?Both wide receiver and tight end are major needs for the Patriots. New England could add two players at each position in the draft and I wouldn’t feel like the team was wasting any resources. These are the two biggest needs for the team. We’ll see how the roster looks after next weekend.
of a four-year Youth Sterling Shepard Jerseys , $62 million contract. So far, he hasn’t lived up to expectations. And that raises questions about whether the Giants will move on from him this offseason. For his part, Solder says he wants to stay with the team and will do whatever’s asked of him, which could include changing positions.“I’ll do whatever it takes to be successful on this team,” Solder told the New York Post. “If they ask me to spin a hula hoop around my head Sterling Shepard Jerseys Stitched , I’ll do that.”There’s been some talk that the Giants might use their first-round draft pick on a left tackle and move Solder to right tackle, and Solder is making clear that if that’s what’s asked of him, that’s what he’ll do.It’s also possible that the Giants will simply release Solder. That wouldn’t be cheap — his dead cap would be $13 million — but it would save the team cap space, given that his cap hit if he’s still on the team in 2020 will be $19.5 million. Either way, it’s less than ideal for the Giants that these are their considerations two years into Solder’s contract. The New York Giants continued rebuilding their much-maligned defense on the third day of the NFL draft Dexter Lawrence New York Giants Jersey , found a deep threat wide receiver to stretch the field after the trade of Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns and found a great feel-good story.General manager Dave Gettleman had six picks on the final day of the draft, and kicked it off by taking Notre Dame cornerback Julian Love in the fourth round. The Giants were ranked 24th in defense last season, giving up an average of 371.4 yards. They had 30 sacks, tied for the second fewest in the league.Wisconsin inside linebacker Ryan Connelly was the first of two fifth-round picks, followed by Auburn wide receiver and sprinter Darius Slayton. New York grabbed another speedster in the sixth round Womens Dexter Lawrence Jersey , taking Washburn cornerback and return man Corey Ballentine. The Giants (5-11) wrapped up the draft, picking Kentucky tackle George Asafo-adjei and Syracuse defensive tackle Chris Slayton in the seventh round.Asafo-adjei was the feel-good story. He was born in New York City and raised by a single mother who worked three jobs. He didn't get a chance to meet his sister until he was 14 years old because she was living in Ghana and the family could not get her to the United States.
back for failing to protect her after she was bloodied Infant Vosean Joseph Jersey , beaten and had $133,000 worth of jewelry stolen during a home invasion last month.Delicia Cordon also alleged in a lawsuit filed in Fulton County, Georgia on Friday that McCoy would "often brutally beat his dog," and would also "aggressively, physically discipline and beat his young son."Without blaming McCoy for playing a role in the home invasion, Cordon accused him of breaching his duty to protect her because he owned the home. She also alleged McCoy "permitted a hazardous condition to exist" by installing a new security system and cameras and denying her access to arm the system.Cordon's face was bloodied during a home invasion in the early hours of July 10.Details of the lawsuit were first reported by WKBW-TV in Buffalo on Monday.Police in Milton, Georgia, are still investigating and have not identified a suspect.Phone and email messages left with McCoy's lawyer, Don Samuel, were not immediately returned.McCoy previously said he had no involvement in the home invasion and had no contact with Cordon in months. He also said allegations made by Cordon's friend last month that he beat his son and dog as being "totally baseless" and "completely false."A person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press the lawsuit will not affect McCoy's status on the team. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity Monday night because Bills coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane have not publicly commented on allegations made in a lawsuit. The Bills are scheduled to practice Tuesday morning.McCoy has spent the past three weeks practicing with the Bills at their training camp facility in suburban Rochester. He declined to comment on the home invasion or other allegations made against him during a news conference on the first day of camp. McCoy said he was instead focused solely on preparing for the regular season.Beane has previously said the team has done its due diligence into on the allegations and is satisfied by the conversations he's had with the NFL, which is holding its own investigation."We've communicated with (the NFL) and we feel comfortable that LeSean's going to be here and ready to roll. We don't see that changing," Beane said.McDermott also addressed the allegations at the time by calling it "a situation that we take very seriously."McDermott reiterated Beane's comments by saying: "We've done our part Ed Oliver Jersey , looked into what we needed to look into and, as an organization, feel that we can move forward at this point in time."The 30-year-old McCoy is entering his fourth season with the Bills after being acquired in a trade with Philadelphia. McCoy led the NFL in yards rushing with the Eagles in 2013. OAKLAND Denzel Ward Jersey , Calif. (AP) — Jon Gruden smiled as soon as Matt McCrane’s kick sailed through the uprights. After nine years in the broadcast booth, three straight weeks of blown second-half leads and a roller-coaster game that featured three lead changes and 38 points after the start of the fourth quarter, Gruden finally won his first game in 3,591 days.“It feels like my first win in 100 years,” he said. “It’s great to be back.”Derek Carr threw four TD passes and a game-tying 2-point conversion with 30 seconds left in regulation to set up McCrane’s 29-yard field goal in overtime that gave the Raiders a come-from-behind 45-42 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.McCrane missed a 50-yard field goal on the opening possession of overtime in his NFL debut and a 47-yarder earlier in the game before getting another chance when Carr drove the Raiders (1-3) back down the field again after a defensive stop for the game winner with 1:46 left in the period.“As soon as I saw it, it was an exciting feeling Trevon Coley Color Rush Jersey ,” McCrane said. “I’ve been working hard. It’s something that I wanted as a kid, to play in the National Football League.”The field goal dealt the Browns (1-2-1) another tough loss as they blew a 14-point lead in the second half and then allowed to get the game-tying TD and 2-point conversion in the final seconds of regulation to spoil Baker Mayfield’s NFL starting debut .Mayfield, the No. 1 overall pick, threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns to put Cleveland on position to win but also committed four turnovers, losing two fumbles and throwing two interceptions, including one that Gareon Conley returned36 yards for a TD .The Browns were seeking their first back-to-back wins since November 2014 after snapping a 19-game winless streak by beating the Jets last week.“I’m tired of growing pains https://www.brownsfanshop.com/Duke-Johnson-Jersey ,” coach Hue Jackson said. “I think we can do those things better. Those things hadn’t reared their ugly head until now. We can do better. Baker can do better. Our offense can do better. Special teams can do better, defense can do better. So, we’ve got to play better.Carr threw for 437 yards, Marshawn Lynch ran for 130 yards for his most productive game in four years, and Amari Cooper (128 yards) and Jared Cook (110) each topped the 100-yard mark. The Browns broke out to a 28-14 lead midway through the third quarter only to fall behind 34-28 early in the fourth thanks in part to Mayfield losing two fumbles deep in his own territory to set up TD passes by Carr. But the Raiders squandered a fourth-quarter lead for the second straight week, falling behind 42-34 after Mayfield’s 59-yard pass to Antonio Callaway set up Carlos Hyde’s 1-yard run and rookie Nick Chubb ran 41 yards for his second long TD of the game.It looked as if that would decide the game when the Browns forced Carr into two incompletions from the 9 with under two minutes left to lead to a turnover on downs.Cleveland appeared to be in position to run out the clock when Hyde converted a first down Greg Joseph Jersey , but a replay review determined he was down just short of the marker and the Browns punted.“That was huge,” Hyde said. “That was a chance to put the game away right there. Definitely. That was a game-changer right there.”Carr then engineered a 53-yard touchdown drive capped by a 7-yard pass to Jared Cook with 30 seconds to play. The Raiders still needed the 2-point conversion to tie it and they got it when Jordy Nelson came down with a fade despite physical coverage by ex-Raider TJ Carrie.Carr has 14 fourth-quarter comebacks but just two sincehis breakthrough season in 2016 when he did it seven times.“It did feel like the old times,” he said. “The way we did that, it helps our team going forward to know what it takes.”CHUBB’S RUNSChubb had just three carries on the day, but the first went for a 63-yard score in the second quarter and the last went for 41 yards and another TD. He finished with three carries for 105 yards.GO FOR 2Jackson went for a 2-point conversion twice in the first half. Mayfield’s pass to Callaway was incomplete on the first attempt before Duke Johnson ran in the second try to make it 17-7.QUICK WHISTLEThe Raiders were upset by a quick whistle that possibly cost Lynch a long TD run. Lynch ran left and linebacker Joe Schobert tried to tackle him but Lynch appeared to spin out of it without going to the ground. He kept running for what could have been a 75-yard TD but the play was blown dead. The Browns were hurt by a quick whistle in the fourth quarter when Carr was ruled in the grasp, negating a fumble recovery that might have resulted in a TD.INJURIESBrowns S Terrance Mitchell left the game with a broken arm in the first half. …Raiders RT Donald Penn left in the second half with a leg injury and LF Kelechi Osemele also left with an undisclosed injury.UP NEXTBrowns: Host Baltimore on Sunday.Raiders: Visit Chargers on Sunday. The Browns turned the ball over on three straight offensive plays in the first half of Sunday’s game in New England and they committed 13 penalties over the entire 27-13 loss to the Patriots. As you’d imagine Jabrill Peppers Color Rush Jersey , both of those things came up during head coach Freddie Kitchens’s postgame press conference. Kitchens said it is “very evident that that’s what’s getting us beat” while pointing to those things and drew a negative comparison between his team’s work and how their hosts on Sunday take care of business.“There’s a lot of banners up there,” Kitchens said, via 92.3 The Fan. “They don’t beat themselves. We beat ourselves. Everybody in the locker room understands what needs to change.”Quarterback Baker Mayfield was on a similar page as his coach after the game. Mayfield called “consistency, discipline and lack of accountability” the biggest problems for the 2-5 Browns as they try to move forward from a three-game losing streak.Identifying what’s wrong is one thing. Fixing it is another and it remains to be seen if this Browns team can correct the issues that have caused them problems all season.
Green Bay Packers Hoodie , but he made arguably the biggest play of his season on the first play from scrimmage in Thursday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks. Matthews’ forced turnover led directly to a Packers touchdown, giving them a 7-0 lead just 1:14 into the game.On first-and-ten following Mason Crosby’s opening kickoff, Russell Wilson handed off to Chris Carson, who ran over the right side of the Seahawks’ offensive line. Clay Matthews made a diving strip on the football Vince Biegel Color Rush Jersey , knocking it onto the ground where Tramon Williams was able to scoop it up.It only took three plays from the 30-yard line for the Packers to take the lead. On first down, Aaron Rodgers ran a bootleg to the left and hit an uncovered Jimmy Graham on a cross for a 13-yard gain. An 8-yard cutback run by Aaron Jones set up a second-and-two. Rodgers tossed to Jones off right end, and he scampered untouched into the end zone for an eight-yard touchdown. Following that play, the Packers’ defense then forced a three-and-out on the Seahawks’ second drive. Stay tuned for further updates here at APC. In his first press conference of Week 3 Dexter Williams Jersey , Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur addressed the captains patches that were on his team’s jerseys against the Vikings on Sunday. This year, Matt LaFleur said, Packers will still have rotating captains, but will keep Aaron Rodgers http://www.thepackersfanshop.com/Jace-Sternberger-Jersey , Za’Darius Smith and Mason Crosby as season-long captains. The permanent captains were decided by a team vote and they will be joined by three rotating captains each game. “We had the team vote...we have a lot of good leaders. We went with one captain for each side of the ball. And we’re going to rotate game captains as well.” LaFleur said. For the first season of doing permanent captains, it is expected that players like Rodgers and Crosby would be selected as the offensive and special teams representatives.Za’Darius Smith being chosen as a captain shows that the team trusts one of its newest members. The defense seems like a tight unit, even taking a picture together after an interception against the Vikings. LaFleur spoke about the team choosing Smith: “I think it says a lot about him...I think his teammates respect him. He’s about the right stuff. He cares about his teammates.”The season long captains will continue to wear the “C” patch, but the rotating captains will not have them on their jerseys. Wearing the patches during the regular season is not something the Packers have done in a long time. In previous seasons under Mike McCarthy Elgton Jenkins Jersey , the team had rotating captains for every game, and only once they reached the playoffs did they settle on permanent captains. It looks like Matt LaFleur is getting right to starting a new culture in Green Bay.
locker room and sees the continually changing nameplates. On Monday https://www.coltsfanshop.com/Marshall-Faulk-Jersey , Charcandrick West and Marquis Young went up on running back row. On Tuesday, James Williams joined the group. And more changes could be coming amid an injury rash that has decimated the Colts’ backfield depth.“You’ve just got to go out there and perform, each and every day,” Mack said. “There’s always competition, and that’s what they tell us, just go out there and perform at the highest level you can.”At least the clear leader of the group, Mack, is healthy after battling injuries each of his first two seasons. He rushed for 358 yards playing behind Frank Gore as a rookie, when he missed two games. Last season with Gore in Miami, Mack won the starting job over two draft picks and finished with 908 yards and nine touchdowns despite missing four games. If he becomes a 16-game workhorse in 2019, a 1,000-yard season seems not only feasible, but likely given the Colts’ goal of producing a top-five rushing offense. But behind Mack there are concerns.Nyheim Hines Eric Ebron Jersey , listed second on the depth chart, survived a big collision on a punt return Saturday that left him flat on his back. He later explained he had the wind knocked out of him and was golfing Monday. The other backs haven’t been nearly as fortunate.A foot injury has kept Jordan Wilkins, Indy’s No. 3 option, out of action since July 30. He’s still listed as week to week.Jonathan Williams, fourth on the depth chart, broke a rib in the first half of Saturday’s loss to Cleveland and there’s no timetable for his return. D’Onta Foreman, whom the Colts claimed off waivers from Houston two weeks ago, went on injured reserve with a torn bicep muscle and will likely miss the season after taking only seven snaps Saturday. Spencer Ware, signed during the offseason, remains on the physically unable to perform list.Naturally, general manager Chris Ballard has been busy looking for replacements. He re-signed undrafted rookie Aca’Cedric Ware on Aug. 7 before this week’s flurry.“We need to get that position right,” coach Frank Reich said. “We need to have some depth. We need to figure out and see how everything is going to unfold with the other injuries — with Jordan and with Jonathan — and just need to make sure that we are ready to go.”It’s taken a toll on the Colts’ rushing productivity. Through two preseason games, Indy is averaging 89.0 yards per game and 3.7 yards per carry. Those numbers might not improve much this weekend with Reich announcing Wednesday most of the Colts’ starters won’t play against Chicago. And with so many moving parts Matt Slauson Color Rush Jersey , Mack and Hines suddenly find themselves playing new roles: mentoring the three newcomers, who are scrambling to learn the playbook and figure out where they fit in the offense.“With the teaching, it’s OK,” Hines said. “We have so many details in the offense, we’re giving ourselves pointers and reminders, too.”Inconsistent backfield rotations aren’t the only problem.Starting quarterback Andrew Luck continues to rehab from a lower left leg injury, which has kept him out of all but three practices since January.Meanwhile, the offensive line has played musical chairs with All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson dealing with an injured ankle, center Ryan Kelly missing time with a shoulder injury and left tackle Anthony Castonzo taking extra time off during the week and on game day. Kelly returned to practice Aug. 11.Inside the locker room, nobody is panicking.“Maybe to the outside it looks that bad,” Kelly said. “But once you dissect it and go in there and break the film down, if something doesn’t go perfectly right it’s usually because one or two assignments are blown, and in the grand scheme of things on the offensive line https://www.coltsfanshop.com/Anthony-Walker-Jersey , those are big plays.”But the revolving door of running backs also has opened a window of opportunity for the newcomers. If Wilkins and Williams aren’t back for the Sept. 8 season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, Ward, Williams or Young could extend to 21 the Colts’ league-high streak of consecutive seasons with an undrafted rookie on the Opening Day roster.“It’s greater than it was,” Ware said when asked how the injuries have helped his odds. “All I have to do is get out there and show them I can play on this level and take advantage of those opportunities.”52<button class="view-gallery">View Gallery</button> Gallery:Greetings from Westfield: Colts training camp 2019AP | Copyright The Associated Press. The Indianapolis Colts announced their inactive players for tonight's match-up on Thursday Night Football:Meanwhile the Texans have announced their own:Most names on that list were expected, Marlon Mack will miss several weeks with a broken hand while both Shakial Taylor and Khari Willis suffered concussions just four days ago, hardly enough time to get out of concussion protocol. Rock Ya-Sin’s absence is unfortunate considering the recent play of the rookie. Once he is able to play with Pierre Desir and Kenny Moore the Colts defensive backfield will be a difficult unit to plan for. Both teams welcome back explosive play-making wide receivers while suffering setbacks with their defensive backs. While the Colts are more ready to handle a banged up secondary than the Texans, getting Pierre Desir back certainly helps, having to face Will Fuller and DeAndre Hopkins will no doubt stress the Colts corners and safeties. This game has massive implications for the division and the AFC playoff race. With a win the Colts take a commanding lead in the AFC South. With a loss the Colts would fall to second place and while that wouldn’t be the end of the world, being in second place in the division is hardly an enviable position to be in.Get excited, Colts fans!

He began his coaching career as an assistant at Juniata. He was a high school assistant at Tyrone and then head coach at Ellwood City before moving on to Wake Forest and Kentucky.Knox considered at one-time returning to Juniata as a history professor and was working on a master’s degree at Penn State before deciding coaching was where he should be.”During that time, I thought what I really wanted to do was coach and not go into the academic area,” Knox told the AP in a 2005 interview. ”I know I made the right choice. It’s what I wanted to do.”Knox entered professional football in the AFL with the New York Jets as offensive line coach in 1963, and played a key role in the recruitment of quarterback Joe Namath. He remained with the Jets until 1966, and was then offensive line coach with the Detroit Lions from 1967-1972.
